"Last May, the Austin, Texas-based consultancy BancVue launched Kasasa, a program that pools resources of community banks, allowing them to market themselves to consumers more cheaply and offer some of the same attractive rewards such as free checking, no-fee ATM withdrawals and debit card rewards programs. 'It is letting them [consumers] know they can have the best of both worlds and they don't have to sacrifice,' said Susan Sierota, the chief marketing officer of BancVue."
"One local bank has become the first in this area to offer the national checking account called Kasasa - and it's creating quite a buzz. Kasasa is a new brand of free checking and savings accounts with high yields, automatic donations to charity and free iTunes downloads. Farmers & Merchants State Bank is the first in the Toledo area to offer it. 'Typically, accounts like this have been reserved for bigger banks who have the budgets to create and come up with new ideas,' said Marty Filogamo, vice president of Farmers & Merchants State Bank. 'But with Kasasa, not it's a community bank that's offering these innovative products."
"I wanted a high interest checking account without fees, outrageous minimum balances and requirements. I found a site that compares checking accounts from multiple banks, and saw an account called Kasasa. It is only offered at a few banks in each state, but it is a great deal and was exactly what I am looking for. It is offered locally in Sugarland [Texas] at Founders Bank. There are no fees, and the only requirements are one direct deposit or auto debit per month and use of debit card 10 times. The interest is 5%. :)"
