As we've been rolling out Kasasa products regionally, we've been reaching out to new customers to find out why they decided to switch their checking or savings accounts and do business with us instead. We'll be profiling some of these customers from time to time on this blog as we feel their stories are powerful, and we truly believe Kasasa is really all about them. Here's the first profile.
Sandra Renteria is an artist, humanitarian, writer, and mom who has traveled to over 30 countries, and her daughter – now 6 – has traveled to 16 of them with her. She calls herself a globe-trotting creative, and her work can be seen at www.sandrarenteria.com. She is also co-founder of the nonprofit foundation artforhaitianchildren.org in Jacmel, Haiti.
She first heard about Kasasa when one of the founders of Conversify – Kasasa's social media marketing agency – posted Kasasa's checking account rates on Facebook for her friends to see.
Renteria was immediately attracted to the higher interest rates and liquid cash availability of Kasasa Checking. She was also intrigued by Kasasa's grassroots approach.
“I checked it out online...seemed easy to start...so I got it in mid-May,” says Renteria who adds that the entire online sign up process was “very easy.”
While she does point out that there are still kinks to work out, she is hanging in there because she says she believes in what Kasasa is trying to do.
Renteria says she is excited for Kasasa and noted how the company is community-driven.
“It's easy...I wouldn't hesitate,” Renteria says. “It's a little harder for someone like me who lives in rural America, and I have to mail my deposits, but it's become a banking lifestyle. I choose [Kasasa] for the maximum yield on my funds.”
