Last year we introduced you to our patch with the post, Kasasa Runs On Passion. The patch visually represents the values of our parent company, BancVue: interdependence, 5-star leadership, love and badassitude. BancVue is heavily inspired by the Spartan army of 300, which you'll notice if you visit our website or offices. We consider ourselves all Spartans, fighting alongside the nation's best community banks and credit unions to topple the megabanks. Our patch represents the values by which every member of BancVue and Kasasa lives and breathes daily. (If you aren’t familiar with the background behind each value, please click either of the links above to learn more.)
We currently have 20 BancVue Spartans adorned with patch tattoos because they believe so strongly in the values of the company, both professionally and personally. Below are photos and quotes from 11 members of the elite patch tattoo team.
"From the first day I walked in to BancVue, I knew it was a different kind of company, one that knew what it took to inspire passion, belief and excitement about your job. I loved what this company stood for and realized that those beliefs can hold true inside and outside the office. The only reason I did not get it right then was I was still on contract. Within a week of becoming a full-time employee, I had a local Austin artist design and tattoo the patch on my leg. To this day, I love the tattoo and all that it stands for."
"I choose the patch tattoo because it truly represents the values I try to aspire to. I have worked for many different organizations and BancVue is the first company that strives to create a culture that fosters delivery with integrity and love. My previous employers all had a culture in which a meritocracy which breeds excellence as an individual. In order to survive you had the play political games to ensure you are not at risk. BancVue on the other hand has developed a culture where working as a team, with integrity and love breeds excellence."
"What I have learned about work and life is that they give back to you exactly what you put into them. To me the Patch represents what I need to focus on putting into both life and work to feel happy, successful and to carry a sense of pride. It’s not just a BancVue symbol, it is a way of facing life that I plan to hold on to for the rest of mine. Yay Ink!"
"The patch represent the values that are important to me in life not just in business. Getting the tattoo affirms my value system for me personally. It’s also cool to explain it to others."
“BancVue is an inspiring company that empowers its employees and its clients to do bigger things than just come to work each day. Part of the reason this is true is because of our commitment to love, five star leadership, interdependence and badassitude. These values and this patch is a constant reminder of what it takes to be part of something important.”
“I think it’s an awesome visual and I believe in what it stands for. I wanted mine to be very colorful and eye-catching. I like when people ask me about it, because I enjoy telling them what it means, and I am proud to be a part of the BancVue phalanx.”
“It’s great that BancVue encourages unique patch tattoo designs to celebrate each employee’s own individuality. In my search for a style of tattoo I felt complimented my own unique personality, I settled on UV reflective ink. I’ve always loved blacklights and have incorporated them for many years while decorating for Halloween (my favorite holiday). The idea of having a blacklight tattoo complimented me perfectly and thus, my blacklight patch tattoo was born!”
"Before I worked at BancVue and believed in its products and amazing mission, I knew I was getting this tattoo. Knowing what it truly stands for is why I wear it now so proudly on my forearm. It's not only what we live by within our company walls, but what we should show to the world in our day to day lives. I enjoy telling the story behind it to everyone I meet. #BancVueLove"
